Where everyone is family!

There are so many favorites from the day but I can't bare to post anymore until I get the new blog up and running because these colors are killin' me! This is probably one of my favorites of "the shot" for the wall. What a fun vision to be a part of and just being with this family just makes your heart sing. They are so loving, supportive and genuine.

Michael and Joy, you little Hot Pockets:)This is a vision I got before the shoot when trying to brainstorm a shot with Proud Papa and his 4 boys.And none of this would be possible without the bliss of these two beautiful souls. They are the perfect Yin and Yang. Sheila, so graceful, reserved with a sparkle in her eyes at all times. Mike, stoic, an open book, and is like your favorite teddy bear that is always there to fill you with love. I admire you two from afar and thank you with all my heart for welcoming us into your spiritual family.This was going to be the PERFECT end to a perfect day, shooting on this wall...until the LOUD alarm went off and scared us away. I should have stood strong, knowing I was with the brave Galeotti's;) At least I got this one.We had to do jumping ones on another garage door.Another favorite of the day!

Galeotti's..."Where everyone is family"

Many of you might not know a disturbing fantasy of mine....I always wanted to marry the Mafia...don't judge;) Well, I think this is hopefully the closest I will ever get. This beautiful family just happens to be the sweetest Italian family on this side of the Mississippi:) This is my beloved friend, Aaron's family. They just took over a restaurant in Battle Ground and they are going to be rebranding it soon with their new fabulous spirit that they carry with them. When Papa Mike and Joy asked me to do a Soprano-type shot of them to blow up for the restaurant I was a little nervous. I don't like trying to recreate someone else's art. So what's a girl to do? She calls her dear friend Brian, that is always up for the challenge. As always, he opened up his heart and mind to me and once again I have been inspired, I have learned and I have a heart full of thanks. Here is what it takes to set up a shot such as this...




This is the stance of a creative genius! If you have ever worked with Brian, you can't help but LOVE and feed of his intense energy. The Galeotti's adored him of course and you have to go check out his shots (unreal!) My take on the day will be in the next post...don't chew your nails off;)

Doll Faces

Well, here are a couple teasers to make you go check out the whole shoot on the featured section of my site. I want to thank Kirsten (at MAC make-up, Couv mall) for her amazing talent and look forward to many more projects with her. Thank you Shannon and Em for being such great sports in the rain (who could have seen that coming...the weather man?) The first series is perfect because the girls get no less than 100 directions from us and we can't figure out why they can't stay focused:)

I know that this shot kind of makes Shannon scared, but Emmy truly nailed this shoot for me. I kept wanting them to do those empty stares that makes them look like a doll. She had the perfect glossy eyes for this. She was the Cupie doll and Jalena was angry doll:) Go check out the rest.

Ragdoll Inspired

So I am surfing the web one day and I run into this girl's avatar. I get many concept shoots in my head, but most of them just sit in there until they fade. Others, stay in there and scream for attention and will not rest until the shoot comes to life. I don't know why I decided that I needed to do a rag doll shoot with the girls, but these are the pictures that inspired me and wait until you see what Shannon, Kirsten (the amazing make-up artist) and I came up with! I know that it is a bit goth (maybe too weird for some) but it's my interpretation, and my artform. So don't give me crazy comments that ask me what the heck I am doing these days:) There are some photographers that feed off the business side of things...You all know that I feed off the passion, and these are the types of shoots that I need every once in a while to keep the candle lit. I was on cloud nine yesterday after the shoot because it was different, fresh, and inspiring. Not to mention we got to shoot in a graveyard (again, not for everyone). The images below are not mine.
